This Year Make a Manifesto vs Resolution
As a design oriented thinker, I envision a manifesto as the foundation of a house and resolutions as the trimmings.  Manifestos tap into the deep rooted principles that drive you.  Whereas resolutions are  temporary and specific, manifestos are timeless and apply to every situation.

Manifestos are Declarations
Mines the document style of a manifesto, which is a flexible, deep declaration of ones principles, values, and beliefs.
Notes that manifestos are of any size or visual design and incorporate a wide variety of statements about one's life, and while they are permanent, they can be revised and augmented, as your experiences change. A resolution is far more temporary, lasting only a year, but usually discarded after a few days. A manifesto is a more lasting guide for life, providing answers in both happy and difficult moments.
