Desperate Job Seekers And The Unemployed?

I am an early adopter of LinkedIn. I am an avid networker and have met some great people because of LinkedIn.  But honestly, in their quest to make money over developing a mature, credible networking tool, they are sinking lower by the day.

Mines the truths about the declining condition of the LinkedIn brand from the point of view of a professional recruiter, who uses the the service to do research, but has her own trusted networks for hiring.

Notes that the reason for this is LinkedIn's Premium set up which claims to put paying customers at the head of the line rather than most qualified applicants, in an effort to monetize the site. Pressure to compete with Facebook has made a farce of the site, with, what the author calls "ridiculous groups," and Facebook-like features.

The supposedly essential social site's worst quality is that they allow all sorts of spam to hit recruiters and applicants, thereby targeting the two populations they represent. The LinkedIn brand of monetization "nickels and dimes" the clients right out the virtual door.
