Record Shares of Young Adults Have Finished Both High School and College
Record shares of young adults are completing high school, going to college and finishing college, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of newly available census data.

Notes that one in three of 25 -29 year olds attaining college degrees defies earlier predictions which anticipated the immigrant influx deflating the numbers considerably due to a disruption in racial and ethnic demographics.
Despite these underestimates, 90% of that same age group hold high school diplomas, a remarkably high number. Researchers suspect that the Great Recession in 2007-2009 may account for part of the increase, with a tepid job market, many youth foresaw the need of education for employment.
In addition, perceptions of the value of college education are shifting in the modern, highly technical marketplace, a trend noted by student and parent alike. Nearly 75% of American adults claimed that a college education is necessary for a secure future.
Whatever the cause, the change is a positive sign that Americans are recognizing the value of college, and the ease of attending either online or traditional classrooms becomes easier daily.
