Redefining “Quality Content” … And Writing It
Sometimes, I think that if I hear the cliche “content is king” one more time, I’ll scream. …Okay, maybe I already have. Everyone’s talking about content marketing now that Google’s put (more) emphasis on “quality content”, but no one really seems to be talking about what “quality content” actually means.
Notes that quality content from a writer's and reader's points of view is complex and multifaceted. At the source has to be a high level of interest which involves an interplay between vibrant writers and readers.
The interest factor includes not just what is in the message, but the subject matter, the style of the writing, the angle or point of view, and the method of delivery. In the end, Penguin and Panda will be happy if both reader and writer are pleased with the content, and writers should maintain a focus on the essential elements of quality writing.
Writers can improve in the areas identified by trying new things, emulating great writing content, and experimenting with current methods. The golden rule of great blogging is evolution through creative change and practice.
