Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
There is a magnet in your heart that will attract true friends. That magnet is unselfishness, thinking of others first; when you learn to live for others, they will live for you.
Courage to live in harmony and balance
While on the surface Yogananda's ideas of living for others seems contradictory, there is knowledge in the synthesis of the two. Your authentic self, when you recognize it, is powerfully you. Your best self is unselfish so that in living your own inner voice, you attract people that live for you as you live for them.
- Life is short and to be happy you must quickly find and live your inner dream.
- Beliefs of others are a potential threat if their voices are so loud that you cannot hear your inner voice.
- Find the courage to live your dreams and intuitions.
- Living your own vision of life draws people to you that allow you to thrive symbiotically, each person facilitating the inner voice of the other.
